Adventure Excursions

Bushmanland

Bushmanland, where the San people still live a largely traditional lifestyle. Excursions can be arranged to go on a field trip with them while they gather bush food and medicines, or hunt with their self-made bows and poisoned arrows. Attending a performance of their traditional dances also gives a rare glimpse into the lives of one of Africa’s most fascinating peoples.

Okavango River

Okavango river, which feeds the world famous Okavango swamps in neighbouring Botswana, offers excellent fishing for Tigerfish and other species.

Hoba Meteorite

Hoba meteorite, a solid mass of iron and nickel weighing more than 60 metric tons, is the largest known meteorite to have struck earth.

Sesriem Canyon

Sesriem is the "Gateway to Sossusvlei". It is a small village called after a natural canyon carved by the Tsauchab rivier in the local sedimentary rock, about a kilometre long and up to 30 meters deep.

The name Sesriem is Afrikaans and means "six belts", given by settlers returning from the Dorsland Trek who had to attach together six belts (made of ox hides) in order to reach buckets down into the canyon to scoop up water.

The Sesriem Canyon is only two metres wide in some places, and has a portion that permanently contains water, which many animals use.

Sossusvlei

Situated in the largest conservation area in Africa (the Namib-Naukluft National Park), Sossusvlei is possibly Namibia’s most spectacular and best-known attraction. Characterised by the large red dunes that surround it, Sossusvlei is a large, white, salt and clay pan and is a great destination all year round. The dunes in this area are some of the highest in the world, reaching almost 400 meters, and provide photographic enthusiasts with wonderful images in the beautiful morning and evening light.

Hot Air Balloon Flight

Hot Air Balloon adventures in Sossusvlei promise a truly unique way to experience Namibia’s brilliant vista. This soul-satisfying journey offers excellent photographic opportunities and lifelong memories.

Awaken before dawn and set out in the early morning moonlight to a designated launch site, where you can watch excitedly as the balloons are brought to life. Giant, hot bursts of flame slowly inflate the brightly coloured nylon, strung to robust baskets that rest on their side. As the sun’s first rays peek over the scarlet sand dunes, the hot air balloon drifts slowly upward, revealing the undulating landscapes of Sossusvlei.

Watch as mighty herds of orxy shrink in size below you and spot the enigmatic fairy circles, which stand out as indented circular patches devoid of vegetation, an intriguing phenomenon of the Namib Desert.
