Big Game Hunting Safaris
Mozambique – Buffalo Paradise!
SMJ Safaris also offers big game hunting in association with Nyati Safaris of Quatada 14 in Mozambique. Quotada 14 consists out of 135 000 hectares of hunting area. This is a prime buffalo hunting area with the possibility to see buffalo every day while hunting. The area consists mainly out of open palm forests and “vlei’ wetlands. Herds off up to 150 buffalo can be seen in the area, with dagga-boy groups being as big as 35 bulls together, making this area a true buffalo haven.
Hunting mainly consists out of walking along the wetland edges, where the buffalo and other game come to drink and wallow in the mud. No amphibious vehicles are used on these hunts. The area is mainly dry in the late season and this makes it possible to enjoy true African hunting by walking and stalking on foot. Most shots ranges from 20-80 metres on buffalo and 100-150 metres on plains-game. The area also offers numerous plains-game species ranging from Livingstone Eland to Blue Duiker.
